DESCRIPTION:

A. TEFLON SEAL. The purpose of the Teflon seal is to facilitate a break in heat transfer to the body of the injector. This part is not a combustion seal. This seal does not normally need to be serviced when removing and reinstalling injectors. Inspect the seal and replace only if physically damaged. This seal can be discolored and still perform as designed.

B. VITON O-RING SEALS. These seals typically sheer when installing the injector into the cylinder head and fuel rail. Replace these seals before reinstalling the direct injector. Remove all traces of old seal material from injector and head.

C. Per 2007-14, a carbon dam builds up in the interface between the cylinder head and direct injector. This is the combustion seal for the direct injector.
